The 2012 Drum Major Audition Camps will be held
Saturdays: April 21, April 28, May 5 and May 12 – 9AM to 12PM

All Audition Camps will take place from 9:00AM to 12:00PM.  Drum Major Applications are available directly from Mr. Wardeska.  Candidates must be available to attend a National Drum Major Camp during one of the weeks listed in the application.

 *Friday, August 17 is “blacked out” for all sports teams and marching band for Freshman Orientation and Link Crew Activities.  No practices of any sort are to be held on that day.

Audition Clinics for the 2012 Marching Blue Devils Color Guard will be held April 21, April 28, May 5 & May 12 from 9AM-12PM at BHS. The audition clinics are open to all interested Brunswick students currently in grades 8, 9, 10 & 11. Please plan to attend all four clinics. The cost is $25 if you need a practice flag. Checks can be made out to the Brunswick Band Parents Organization. For more information contact Mrs. Wardeska, Color Guard Coordinator at awardeska@bcsoh.org

The Brunswick WInter Guard, performing their show, entitled “Time After Time,” compete for the first time in the OIPA State Championships on Saturday, March 17.  The WInter Guard placed in 9th in preliminary competition, earning the right to advance to the finals. The unit placed 10th overall with an amazing improvement in their score.

Congratulations to all of these young women on their outstanding performances.  Congratulations also to their staff – Mrs. Wardeska, Mr. Edens and Ms. Buker.

Congratulations to the members of the Brunswick Concert Band, Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble.  Marking the first time that Brunswick High School entered 3 concert bands into the OMEA Large Group Contest, all three bands did an outstanding job.  The Concert Band earned an Excellent Rating in Class C, and earned a Superior Rating in Sight-reading.  The Symphonic Band earned an Excellent Rating, competing for the first time, and in Class B.

Special congratulations goes to the Wind Ensemble who earned yet another Superior Rating while competing in the difficult and elite Class AA.  Class AA is the most elite level of competition.

The Brunswick High School Percussion Ensemble will be giving its spring concert on Tuesday March 20, 2012 at 7:00 pm. The concert will be in the Performing Arts Center of Brunswick High School. Admission is free. This year’s special guest soloist is timpanist Ryun Louie.
