Five major ensembles constitute the band program at Brunswick High School including 9th grade concert band, symphonic band, wind ensemble, jazz band and marching band.  The wind ensemble and jazz band are the most advanced ensembles. Other musical offerings include the Concert Percussion Ensemble, Pit Orchestra, Winter Color Guard, solo and ensemble and various jazz and chamber ensembles that form throughout the year.

Established in 2001, the wind ensemble has had the honor of performing at a number of prestigious events including the Ohio Music Education Association Professional Conference, the Ohio Band Director's Conference, the Inaugural U.S Army Band President's Cup Concert, the Disney Honors Festival, the University of Akron Concert Band Clinic, and Cleveland State University and Kent State University Partnership Concerts. Guest conductors include Mark Camphouse, Paula Crider, Frank Wickes, Jerry Junkin and Wayne Gorder. The ensemble has premiered two compositions for wind ensemble--Tango Macabre and The Temple at Dindymon both composed by Wayne Gorder. Since 2001, the band has been a regular participant in OMEA district and state adjudicated events--earning the Superior Rating at both events.

The district’s three middle schools offer band at each grade level.  When students reach high school, a private lesson program and extensive weekly sectional program combined with a pedagogical program implemented through the co-curricular marching band combine to enrich student skills.  Marching band is exclusively an after school activity with concert bands meeting as full curricular classes beginning on the first day of the first quarter. The generosity of many local musicians, educators and alumni help develop the high level of growth in performance at Brunswick High School.

The purchase of music, instruments, equipment as well as most instrument repairs are provided through the generous support and dedication of the Brunswick Band Parents Organization who provided funding for the instrumental music program in grades 5 through 12.

The marching band has also seen tremendous success through the years.  The marching band has been an OMEA State Marching Band Finalist every year for the past 35 years--earning Superior Ratings every year for the past 18 consecutive years. The band has been a Bands of America Regional Championships Finalist a Class AAAA Champion. The marching band has performed at events including, the Florida Citrus Parade in Orlando, Florida; Disney World and Epcot Center for the New Year’s Eve Parades; Washington, D.C. for the Presidential Inaugural Parade; the Orange Bowl Parade in Miami, Florida; the Hula Bowl Parade in Honolulu, Hawaii; and the New Year’s Parade in London, England.

On January 1, 2020 the Marching Blue Devils will appear in the London New Year's Day Parade.
